Bob’s work is acknowledged as breaking new ground with the interpretation of
complex exhibition content. With project experience in Europe, the United States
and Asia he has an informed perspective on the keyforces shaping
modern museums.
Bob co-designed the permanent Holocaust Exhibition for the Imperial War
Museum in London. For the same client he worked on the masterplanning of
the new War Museum North with Daniel Libeskind and the Money Zone as part
of the national celebrations in Britain’s Millennium Dome.
At Large, has designed the Sugar and Slavery, Museum in Docklands,
Plantastic, National Museums, Liverpool, Climbers and Creepers,

WORLD OF MATERIALS
Margaret Pope's last Materials' Clinic was fully booked and was attended by students from a broad range of disciplines including Interior Design, Graphic Design, Furniture and Product, and Fine Art. Margaret will be visiting us again on December 8th. For more details, and details of other events taking place in the Materials and Products Collection, see below.
Explore the World of Materials - repeated at 2pm Monday-Friday week beginning 28th November 2011
An opportunity to explore the range of materials available in the Materials and Products Collection; learn how to use Materio to search for materials by properties; discover how to source materials; glean tips on approaching companies for samples; and find out which books are useful for researching materials. The talk will last approximately half an hour. All welcome. No need to book. Just turn up to any session.

Experienced Materials Consultant, Margaret Pope, who works with designers, architects and others to help them source materials for their design projects, will be visiting the university on December 8th. Students can come and see her in the Materials and Products Collection and ask for advice on which materials to use and where to source them. A booking system is in operation. Appointments can be made in person at the Library Information Desk at Commercial Road, by phone (020 73201867) or by email (s.tytler@londonmet.ac.uk.)

Paris Trip 14th-15th February/ Premiere Vision show 15th

We are planning to visit Premier Vision Textile exhibition in Paris on Wednesday 15th Feb.
Gina is booking the group entrance ticket, but you will need to book the Eurostar train or plane and the hostel yourself. We will be meeting at the show which is at Villepointe, about 40mins on the train from Gare du Nord, Paris, at 10.00. Gina will give you all the information needed for getting there.
The suggested hostel, St Christopher's Inn, 68-74 Quai de la Seine, Paris, Île-de-France, France 75019, link ; approx £25 per night in group dorms.
The Eurostar youth ticket (under 25) is £33, on the 7.54am train from St Pancras, on Tuesday 14th February, returning Wednesday after the show on Wednesday eve, £33, total £66. You need to book this now, as these tickets will go up in price and sell out. If you want to stay elsewhere or for longer that is up to you.
